KARACHI

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct re-polling in the entire constituency of NA-250 instead of its 42 polling stations.
Addressing a news conference here Monday, MQM candidate Khushbakht Shujaat said the ECP failed to monitor properly the electoral process on May 11. She said she had got registered her complaint with the ECP regarding delay in polling. She added that many areas including Reti Line, Dehli Colony and other polling stations faced delay.  She said millions of people could be gathered on a single call of party chief Altaf Hussain; however she added that the MQM doesn’t want conflict with any political party. She alleged PTI candidate for NA 250 Arif Alvi had distributed ballot boxes in various polling stations of the constituency which is unconstitutional. She said the ECP should conduct re-polling in NA-250, PS-112 and PS-113 adding that international media and analysts should also to be invited to monitor the re-polling.  MQM leader Raza Haroon alleged that various political parties have started propaganda against the MQM. He said media is also misreporting Altaf Hussain’s statement regarding separation of Karachi from the country. He clarified the MQM chief never demanded separation of the city.
