ECP asked to deploy Army during repoll at NA-46

The tribal elders of Khyber Agency have demanded the Election Commission to immediately notify elections results of those polling stations at NA-46, wherein election process was peacefully held on May 11.
The elders of Zakhakhel tribe led by Maliki Jan while speaking at a news conference on Tuesday also announced to support former MNA and candidate from NA-46 Hamidullah Jan Afridi.
He said that Hamidullah Jan had played an important role in mitigating sufferings of tribal people of the Khyber Agency.
Flanked by Malik Safi Jan, Malik Sher Rehman and Qazi Abdul Hadi, he asked the Election Commission to ensure foolproof security arrangements and also deploy Army during the re-polls at about 21 polling stations in Khyber Agency on May 25. He expressed fear that situations would again get worse on polling day, if the authorities concerned did not take security steps.
“The caretaker government and ECP should take pre-emptive measures to avoid any violence during electoral process,” he said.
Maliki also expressed concern over the bargaining of votes and rigging in NA-46 Khyber Agency. He asked the ECP to take notice of the pre-poll rigging in the constituency and disqualify those found involve in the illegal act. Maliki Jan also demanded the ECP to announce results of the candidates, wherein election was held in several polling station of NA-46 on May 11.
