Militants storm police post near Swabi, kill 2 cops

SWABI - A militant attack on a police post in Razaar tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left two policemen dead on Sunday, officials said.
Two policemen came under attack at Darang police post, officials said, adding the rest of the police team had gone on a routine patrol.
Sajjad Khan, the district police officer, who rushed to the crime site, said it was yet unclear how the attackers came, how they killed the policemen and fled. He rejected reports that the militants had set the police post afire, saying an improvised explosive device had been planted near the police post but the same was defused by Bomb Disposal Squad.
The victim policemen were identified as Sajjid Khan and Mubasir Nadar. The former belonged to Swabi city and the latter to Kalu Khan village. A case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
In August, two policemen and a detainee were killed and three others sustained injuries in the same area when militants ambushed a police mobile.
WOMAN KILLED IN GRENADE ATTACK
INP adds: A woman was killed and four including three women sustained injuries in a hand grenade attack at a house here on Sunday.
Police said unidentified men hurled a hand grenade at a house in Kashkol Banda area. As a result, five people including four women sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to District Headquarters Hospital, where one woman succumbed to her injuries.
The unknown miscreants managed to flee after the attack.
Police have registered case of the incident and started further investigation.
