PTI continues protest to block Nato supplies

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers staged sit-in against NATO supplies continued on the 17th consecutive day and termed the protest an effective weapon for halting drone attacks in Pakistan.
The sit-in was attended by PTI Provincial Information secretary Ashtiqa Urmar, PK-06 MPA Fazl Ellahi, General secretary Zaheer Younis and other office-bearers. Addressing on the occasion the PTI information secretary said that PTI has put pressure on US authorities to stop drone strikes in Pakistan and the recent visit of US Defence Secretary to Pakistan is one of the steps through which they would demand opening of routes.
He said that the strategy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf against drone attacks will continue until complete halt to drone attacks in Pakistan. He claimed that it was the first time in the last four years that the US Defence Secretary was visiting Pakistan.
He also demanded of the federal government to put pressure on the US to stop drone attacks in Pakistan because these drone strikes are counterproductive and major hurdle in peace process of the country.
