LAHORE Pakistan Railways new General Manager Saeed Akhtar inaugurated a lounge for the Business Train here on Saturday. The first Business Train will be operational on December 25. The PR management expects that the department will earn Rs1.15 billion per year throught this project. Four Brothers International Private Limited, a private company, invested Rs225.786 million to bring substantive changes to value adding in the passenger services. Akhtar while inaugurating the Lounge, at the citys main station, said: International standard facilitates will be provided to the passengers in this train, which will be operated between Lahore and Karachi. MNA SardarAyaz Sadiq and LCCI President Irfan Qaiser were also present on the occasion. According to the agreement, food and catering service for the passengers in the lounges and in the Business Train would be provided by the Four Brothers Pvt Limited. The Business Trains would consist of nine Business-Class airconditioned coaches, with a journey time of 18 hours. Saeed Akhtar said the international standard facilities were being introduced in the Business Train to attract business community. It is expected that mostly business community would travel through the train. The PR is likely to start more such trains in Sialkot and Faisalabad. Speaking on the occasion, Ayaz Sadiq said that government was not serious for the betterment of Pakistan Railways.
