APC an ill-timed move: PML-N

LAHORE The PML-N has termed Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilanis proposal of an all parties conference on floods an out-of-time move, maintaining that it was needless to call such a conference at this moment. As per reliable party sources, party Quaid Nawaz Sharif discussed Prime Ministers APC idea with senior PML-N leaders, who were of the view that it was not the time to convene such a conference and instead, full attention should be focused on measures for the rehabilitation of the flood-hit people, as well as, on fair utilisation of funds for them. Although it was never their demand to convene an APC, yet it could have been of some value had the government taken such a step just when the flood had hit, one source said, quoting the senior leadership. The source also said that Nawaz Sharif had put forward the proposal of national commission only to rescue the government, but his proposal was dropped and the announcement of holding APC was meaningless now. The Prime Minister should have made the nation aware why he detoured from establishing a national commission on floods, to which he had earlier agreed said the sources. If the Prime Minister is serious in helping the flood affectees, he must prove it by means of his actions and measures, the sources further said.
