At least 6 people killed in US drone attack in North Waziristan

At least six tribesmen were killed in a US drone attack on a vehicle in North Waziristan Agency on Sunday. Separately, three security personnel were injured in a roadside bomb blast. According to official sources, a US unmanned spy plane fired two missiles on a vehicle in Dattakhel area, some 30 kilometres west of Miranshah, the tribal headquarters of North Waziristan Agency (NWA). The vehicle was destroyed completely in missile attack and six suspected militants present in the vehicle were killed on the spot. A house located nearby the site of the attack was also partially damaged in the missile strike but no causality or injury was reported from the house. The officials claimed that the people killed in attack were militants but the according to locals the deceased were peaceful tribesmen and haven't any connection with militancy or any such other activity. Meanwhile, three security personnel were injured after a vehicle in the convoy of FC and army that was heading towards Bannu from Miranshah struck a roadside planted bomb in Mir Ali Road area. The injured were shifted to Army Medical Camp Miranshah for treatment where according to sources their condition was stable. The security forces launched search operation in the area after the bomb attack and targeted suspected hideouts of militants but no causality or injury was reported. Due to increasing attacks on security forces, indefinite curfew was imposed in tehsil Razmak, Doushali, Mirali and Bannu-Miranshah road localities of NWA.
