KPK budget worth Rs 303 billion presented

A balanced and tax-free KPK budget for the next fiscal year with a total outlay of over three hundred billion rupees has been presented in the Provincial Assembly. The balanced and tax-free budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province for the next fiscal year was presented in the Provincial Assembly in Peshawar on Friday. The Provincial Finance Minister Hamayun Khan presented the budget. The total outlay of the budget is 303 billion rupees. The total Annual Development Programme has been estimated to over 97 billion rupees showing 7 percent increase as compared to current year. The ADP consists of 904 projects including 667 ongoing and 273 new projects. In the next budget‚ over 10 billion 330 million rupees have been proposed for health‚ about 2 billion rupees for technical education and manpower‚ 6 billion seventy million rupees for education‚ over 23 billion 350 million rupees for police‚ about 2 billion 800 million rupees for irrigation and 2 billion and 450 million rupees for communication sector. Under federal PSDP‚ 60 billion 130 million rupees have been proposed for 176 projects. Under health sector‚ 12 hospitals of different categories would be constructed in different districts. One hundred new primary schools would be constructed besides up-gradation of 125 schools. The provincial government has also increased the salaries of Government employees by 20 per cent. Five hundred million rupees have been allocated for the Benazir income support programme (BISP). The government will launch a TV station besides three FM Radio stations in the province. The Provincial Finance Minister also presented supplementary budget for the current fiscal year.
