DECL signs contract with GE

Lahore : DECL signed a contract with GE for the supply and installation of equipment and technical advisory services for Nandipur Power Project. The turbines were installed in 2013 and the inauguration marks the synchronization of the first unit to the national grid, which will supply 100 MW.  GE (NYSE: GE) supplied and installed 3 9E gas turbines at the newly inaugurated 425 MW Nandipur Power Project in Gujranwala.

The project will add 425 MW to the national grid, with GE technologies generating 300 MW – enough to power almost 300,000 homes. Sarim Sheikh, President & CEO of GE Pakistan, said that inauguration of the Nandipur Power Plant will play an integral role in addressing the energy shortage that Pakistan currently faces.
