ISLAMABAD - In line with the declining trend of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in international market, LPG Marketing Companies have reduced the prices of the product by Rs 5 per kg to be effective from Friday night, it has learned. After this decline in LPG price, a reduction of Rs 60 per kg in the price of domestic cylinder while Rs 240 would be trimmed down in the price of commercial cylinder after the imposition of this cut in price of the product, sources said, adding that within one month a decrease of Rs 21 has been witnessed resultantly LPG price reduced from Rs 130 per kg and after this dwindle new LP price will be Rs 110 per kg in the country. A reduction of Rs 248 in domestic cylinder price while a reduction of Rs 992 will be witnessed, sources said. LPG Distributor Association (LPGDA) Pakistan Chairman Irfan Khokar has said that LPG Policy 2011 would be beneficial for poor taxi or rickshaw driver and for common man as well. He told that a team formed by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) was busy in raids on the plants of those LPG marketing companies, which had not reduced the price of the product. He said this reduced price would be effective from Friday night. According to Irfan Khokar, price of LPG at Karachi would be Rs 105 instead of Rs 110 while price of domestic cylinder would be Rs 1,210 instead of Rs 1,270 and at Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Daska, Jhang, Sargodha, Khanewal, Gujrat, Mir Pur Azad Kashmir domestic cylinder will be available at Rs 1270 instead of Rs 1330. He further informed that at Peshawar, Dera Ismail Kahn, Multan, Sadiqabad, Bahwalpur, Rahim Yar Khan LPG would be available at Rs 120 per kg instead of Rs 125 and LPG would be available at Rs 130 instead of Rs 135 at Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree, Nathia Galli, Muzaffarabad while at Swat, Mansehra, Balakot, Bagh LPG would be available at Rs 135 instead of Rs 140. Similarly, LPG would be available at Rs 140 instead of Rs 145 at Gilgat Baltistan and domestic cylinder would be at Rs 1630 instead of Rs 1690. It is relevant to mention that Ogra enforcement team has conducted secret raids on ten LPG plants and on 50 sales points in different cities of the country.
