Businessmen role vital for economic development, says President

ISLAMABAD  - President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday said entrepreneurs and business community were valuable asset for the country and stressed that meaningful economic development was not possible without their active input.
The President expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by its President Dr Shimail Daud Arain, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here.
President Mamnoon Hussain said the government was undertaking all possible initiatives to improve security situation in the country and to restore the confidence of businessmen and investors so as to generate robust economic activity.  He urged the business community to complement the government’s efforts and play their active role in accelerating the pace of economic development.
He called upon the business community to come forward and suggest concrete measures to the government to augment economic growth and development.
RCCI President Dr Shimail Daud Arain thanked the President for meeting and assured that the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue making its positive contributions towards national economy.
The delegation included among others Malik Shahid Saleem, Muhammad Alam Chughtai, Manzoor Khurshid Shaikh, Mohammad Shabir, Sohail Altaf, S M Naseem, Muhammad Munir Mughal, and Mohammad Hafeez Ahmed.
