ISLAMABAD : Five hydel power projects with a capacity to produce 5‚789 megawatts electricity would be completed by 2018, state media reported on Sunday. Diamer-Bhasha Dam will generate 4,500 megawatts electricity and store over eight million acre feet of water to meet growing power and irrigation needs. Golen Gol Hydropower Project being constructed in Chitral will be completed next year and produce 106mw. The Neelum-Jhelum Project on completion in 2016 would produce 969mw.  Duber Khwar Hydropower Project would produce 130mw. Kurram hydropower project  to produce 84mw and it will be completed within next four years.
