Port Qasim shipping activity

KARACHI (APP) - Four ships carrying Containers, Palm oil and Chemicals were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours (including night navigation). Berth occupancy was managed at the port at fifty five percent on Friday where a total of five ships namely C.V CSAV Lauca, C.V Maersk Novazzano, M.T word Majesty, M.V Aigeorgis and M.T SC Dalian are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals and Canola Seeds respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo handling remained moderate at the Port where a cargo volume of 31,022 tones comprising 22,706 tones import and 8,316 tones export inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,764 Containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours. C.V New Delhi Express and C.V MSC Lauca sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while three more ships C.V Maersk Novazzano, M.T word Majesty and M.T SC Dalian are expected to sail on Saturday. Two ships C.V MSC Bulgaria and M.T Grigoroussa-1 carrying Containers and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Saturday while two more ships M.V Laila Queen and M.T CE-Pacific scheduled to load/offload 20,000 tons Cement and 56,000 tons Crude oil are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
