PR to operate safari trains

LAHORE - Pakistan Railways and its subsidiary Pakistan Railway Advisory and Consultancy Services (PRACS) have announced to operate various safari trains in a view to promote tourism in the country via trains. The PRACS spokesman Shahid Saleem while talking to The Nation said that the decision was announced in the wake of marking 150 years celebrations of Pakistan Railways. He said that PR is celebrating its third golden jubilee this year, since it had been in the region for 150 years. The first train in the region ran on May 13, 1861 from Karachi to Kotri, he added. According to the PRACS spokesman, the first safari train will be operated from Rawalpindi to Texla on February 20. On 27 February, the second safari train will be operated from Khawera and on March 16, the third will leave from Kalabagh.
