AJK govt invites traders to invest in hydel projects

SIALKOT - Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Attique Azad Khan has said that the AJK government would soon provide the maximum incentives, besides, providing the business and investment friendly opportunities to invest in AJK in establishing the hydel power projects, urging the Sialkot business community to come forward and invest. He said that the AJK was very suitable land for hydel power projects being enriched with natural waterfalls, rivers, streams and other water resources. He said that the massive investment in establishing the hydel power projects in AJK would also be helpful in over coming the menace of energy crisis in Pakistan in future. He stated this while addressing an important meeting of Sialkot business community held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here in this evening. SCCI President Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhary and the representatives of Sialkots all the main trade bodies were also present on this occasion. AJK Prime Minister said that there were bright opportunities of promoting the bilateral mutual trade between Mirpur-AJK and Sialkot-Pakistan and the time was ripe to make sincere efforts to boom up these trade ties. He highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot. He said that the AJK government would soon conduct a study on the opportunities of promoting and strengthening the trade ties between AJK and Sialkot. AJK Prime Minister revealed that it was the high time to make the Line of Control (LoC) as Line of Commerce (LoC) opening the new vistas of mutual bilateral trade. He said that LoC now should be called as Line of Commerce. On this occasion, President SCCI Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhary said that the export-oriented Sialkot city has successfully followed the examples of Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan and other countries in development of SME culture in Sialkot, as the Sialkot based SMEs have been producing only exportable items and enjoy special status in the international market for its products. Government and other financial institutions are lending support to the export sector and we are foreseeing growth of exports and development of SMEs at a fast pace in Sialkot.
