Skill development scheme for women

PESHAWAR (APP) The Pakistan Village Development Programme (PVDP) with the assistance of international welfare organization TROCAIR has launched a skill development project for the residents of the flood affected localities of Union Council Mohib Banda in Nowshera district. The project initiated under Community Empowerment & Livelihood Improvement Programme (CELIP), will provide skill to the women of Jaba Daudzai, Banda Sheikh Ismail, Momin Ghari, Banda Miangaan and Camp Koroona to enable them to earn livelihood in a dignified manner. According to Imran Iqbal, Assistant Programme, Manager, PVDP the organization is providing skill to the women of those rendered unemployed due to devastating floods of last year. The women of affected villages of Union Council, Mohib Banda will be provided training in sewing, embroidery, fibric painting, flower making, ribbon work and decoration to support their male family members in earning livelihood. On the completion of the training refresher courses will also be arranged for such women. The Pakistan Village Development Programme has provided sewing machines and other material relating to the training to these women.
