ISLAMABAD - Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided high-tech equipment worth Rs 110 million to Technical services Group (TSG) of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) for efficient and effective Transmission of electricity across the country.
The equipment is provided under “Project for Improvement of Training Capacity on Gird System Operation and Maintenance” a technical cooperation project by JICA for efficient grid system management.
TSG was established in 1985 which includes 3 training centers in Lahore, Faisalabad and Tarbela to provide training to NTDC, Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs), Generation, Companies (GENCO) and Independent power Producers (IPPs) staff for operation and maintenance of Gird System, an official told.
TSG is a public sector organization imparting technical training and support to operation and maintenances staff of 500KV , 220KV and 132 KV gird Stations and transmission lines.
Since establishment in 1985, this is the first time that TSG is upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment coupled with revision of training curriculum. For other technical assistance component of the project, the Japanese experts from Asia Kyodo-Sekkei Consultant Co. Ltd helped TSG with training policy, training syllabi, text books and new training program. “It is hoped that the revised curriculum and new equipment will have a synergetic effect on efficient and effective gird system operations”, official said. Besides providing equipment and trainings in Pakistan through Japanese experts, JICA also organized Training of Trainers (ToT) program in Japan Whereby, 32 TSG trainers and NTDC managements were sent to Shikoku electric Power company, Inc. to Japan, in-order to strengthen their capacity for professional service delivery.

efficient service delivery to the people of Pakistan.
