KARACHI - A joint delegation comprising representatives of Oxfam-GB and Participatory Development Initiatives (PDI) had separate meetings with the Sindh Agriculture Minister and the Revenue Dept officials on Friday. According to the PDI official, the delegation suggested the authorities concerned various recommendations and emphasized upon close coordination between Sindhs Agriculture and Revenue depts for further improvement regarding the land distribution programme being launched by the Sindh govt for landless women peasants in the province. The delegation met with Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah at his office, wherein, they stressed upon the Sindh govt to make a mechanism to provide agriculture input to the deprived women, who have been allotted lands under the Sindh govt land distribution programme. On the occasion, the minister informed the delegation about the steps being taken by his ministry for the better livelihoods of small farmers in the Sindh province.
