Palm oil imports down 12.22pc in two months

ISLAMABAD : The palm oil imports into the country witnessed decrease of 12.22 per cent during the first two months of the current fiscal year as compared to the same period of last year. The palm oil imports into the country during July-September (2012-13) were recorded at $409.360 million against the imports of $466.360 million during July-September (2011-12), according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). However, on the other hand, the imports of soyabean oil increased by 22.23 percent during the period under review by going up from $24.343 million to $29.755 million.
