PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) has announced to launch build your house scheme under self-help initiative. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the president of KPCCI Riaz Arshad said that it was out of the capacity of the provincial government to re-erect all the damaged houses and appealed to the well off people of Pakistan and international community to put their share in this move of welfare and rehabilitation. He said that the traders of the province would initiate a campaign for the reconstruction of 300 houses in the first phase of the programme and announced 9 million rupees for the scheme whereby the owners of the houses would reconstruct their houses and the Chamber would give them daily wages of 250 per day. He said that transparency would be ensured in the process and it would boost the economic conditions of the flood-affected masses. With the help of the initiative their houses would be re-erected and they would get daily wages. Riaz said that the provincial government has promised the Chamber and as well as provincial disaster management authority has also nodded in this regard whereas this week the scheme would be started.
