Ambassador of South Korea to Pakistan Song Jong-hawan said Korean companies are showing great interest for investment in energy sector to help Pakistan.
Song Jong-hawan expressed these views during his meeting with Minister of State for Water and Power Ch. Abid Sher Ali here on Tuesday.
The Minister commended the deep ties between Pakistan and Korea in various fields.
He said that it is the vision of present government to strengthen relation with Korea and facilitate Korean investors to bring business to Pakistan.
Explaining the current potential in energy sector of Pakistan, the Minister said that we had great opportunity in coal and hydel projects as 60000 MW potential lies in hydel sector only. Avenues between Korea and Pakistan in this regard may further be explored.
The Ambassador said that more and more Korean companies are showing their interest for investment in energy sector to help Pakistan overcome the acute energy shortage it has been facing for long.
He also expressed the optimism that the volume of trade between Pakistan and South Korea was bound to increase as both the governments and the private sector, in the two countries, are taking measures to get the desired results.
In the end the Minister of State for Water and Power, Ch. Abid Sher Ali thanked the ambassador for a deep insight into the Korean matters and expected that the relationship would further strengthen between the two countries.
