ISLAMABAD : There is some relief for the inflation-hit masses as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved decrease in the electricity tariff by Rs1.15 per unit. According to NEPRA, the approval has been made on account of fuel adjustment charges for the month of June. The decrease in the tariff will be applicable for the month of January, 2014. It is to be mentioned here that the price of electricity has been reduced for the first time since the new government has been sworn in. The country is facing a huge energy deficit since last few years.
Massive loadshedding has crippled the industrial activities, thousands industrial units had closed down or relocated while millions of industrial workers have lost their jobs.
