Use of black tea increasing

KARACHI - Use of black tea in Pakistan is increasing gradually and to fulfil the domestic requirements, local vender imports a large quantity of black tea. Former chairman of Pakistan Tea Association Hamid Saeed Kahwaja said importers of black tea pay around 40 percent duty to import tea. He suggested if government gives relief to importers in term of duty, automatically the price of black tea in local market go down. He added that after government action, smuggling of black tea has been reduced but not totally stopped.
