Flour milling industry backbone of economy



PESHAWAR  – Leader of Businessmen Forum, Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour has said that flour milling industry enjoys the status of the backbone in national economy and all available resources will be utilized for its stability.
He expressed these views while addressing annual meeting held in connections with schedule for annual Elections of Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) for Year 2012-13 in Nathiagali as chief guest.  Central chairman, PFMA, Mohammad Naeem Butt presided the meeting.
Others who attended were included provincial chairman PFMA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Malik Iftikhar Ahmad Awan, former chairmen, Mohammad Sadiq, Haji Sartaj Ali, chairmen of provincial chapters, divisional vice chairmen and members’ executive committees.
He assured the resolution of problems and provision of protection to flour mills established with investment of millions of rupees. He paid tributes to the management and workers of industries for uninterrupted running of mills in difficult situation.
During the meeting central chairman PFMA, Mohammad Naeem Butt briefed Senator Bilour on the miserable conditions of flour milling industry. He said that long power outages and unscheduled load shedding had badly affected the industry and if the situation remain the same then the running of the mills will become impossible. He said that in the month of Ramazan they will not be in position to meet the requirement of people.
Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour said that bringing an end to power load shedding is among the top priorities of the government and in this connection the government is working in different projects on fast track basis.
He was hopeful that very soon the people would soon get retrieved of the menace of load shedding.
At the end central chairman, Mohammad Naeed Butt on behalf of his cabinet extended thanks to Senator Bilour for attending the meeting and wore him traditional turban.
