Argentine keen to boost trade ties
 
 
 

RAWALPINDI - Ambassador of the Argentine Rodolfo J Martin Saravia has said that his country would enhance trade relations with Pakistan and Rawalpindi Chamber would be facilitated to organise single country exhibition in Argentine.
He said that Rawalpindi Chamber was playing pivotal role in national economic and industrial uplift and Argentine Embassy would assist the chamber to endorse trade relations between two countries.
Ambassador said that his country wanted to invest in mass transit transport system in Pakistan and also eager to cooperate with chamber in social sector and suggest to form joint committees to enhance bilateral trade.
He was exchanging these views with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Dr Shimail Daud Arain during his visit to the RCCI here on Thursday. Senior vice president Malik Shahid Saleem, vice president Muhammad Alalm Chughtai, former presidents, members’ executive committee and other members of the chamber were also present on the occasion.
 
Ambassador said that to enhance trade relations between the Pakistan and Argentine the direct interaction of the business community of two sides should be promoted and embassy would cooperate with RCCI in this regard.
He said that Pakistani products were high in demand in Argentinean markets but there was no effort was being made from the Pakistani side to get accesses to the markets. He invited RCCI to visit Argentine and organize single country expo to promote local goods and ensured his full cooperation to the President RCCI in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Dr Shimail Daud said that RCCI motto was to promote business activities within and outside the country to generate revenues for its motherland. He said that it was need of the hour to promote bilateral trade as the prevailing trade volume was around $125 million which was very low. He said that RCCI interested to hold a single country Expo in Argentine to promote Pakistani products in the said market and sought Argentine Embassy support in this regard.
