British Council holds event

ISLAMABAD (PR): British Council organised an exclusive event at Serena Islamabad the other day to introduce a brand new forward-thinking English Assessment Tool for organisations, called Aptis. The highlight of the event was a live Stand-up Comedy performance by Pakistan’s first English stand-up Comedian, Sami Shah. Sami has gained recognition and appreciation over the last decade for his stand-up comedy in Pakistan and abroad. His performance elicited much laughter and applause from the audience, and provided the perfect introduction to Aptis.
Aptis has tremendous potential for organizations wishing to gauge employees’ English communication skills, as it encompasses all facets of language, from reading and writing to listening and speaking. It has been developed after years of research by the British Council, which is synonymous with English expertise across the world. ‘We are confident that Aptis will prove to be a great asset for the British Council and the Pakistani corporate sector,’ said Ahsan Razvi, Director Business Development British Council.
The performance and dinner were attended by a diverse audience, ranging from corporate organisations to educational institutes to NGOs. This event also took place in Lahore and Karachi during the same week.
