World Expo 2010 Shanghai

KARACHI - Pakistan pavilion at Shanghai Expo-2010 is drawing crowds as thousands of Chinese and foreigners are visiting it daily and getting appreciation from everyone. This was observed by Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khan who visited pavilion, discussed plans for the future and intimated in a correspondence to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). On the occasion, Ambassador observed that general perception amongst the people was that Pakistan pavilion was one of the best pavilions. This perception is supported by its location. It was next to the Chinese pavilion, its impressive fatade being replica of the Lahore Fort and its interior used modern holographic imagery and audio-visual material to project rich dimension of Pakistan life in cities and villages, the Ambassador said. With the theme Harmony in Diversity, the pavilion has three prominent facets, highlighting strong bonds between Pakistan and China. Ambassador Masood Khan noted that apart from the ambiance of the pavilion, its music, artefacts, handicrafts and cuisine are attracting large crowds. High level Chinese dignitaries including Zhou Yongkang, Member Standing Committee of the Politburo, Meng Jianzhu, State Counsellor and Minister for Public Security and senior official of the Chinese Foreign Ministry have visited and appreciated the pavilion. The TDAP has been involved in formation of concept, scope and magnitude of Pakistan pavilion from its beginning till completion. The Pakistan pavilion is excellent, The Times of India has judged Pakistan pavilion to be far better than Indias while Chinese newspapers are planning to publish special articles on Pakistan pavilion.
