Islamabad - President Mamnoon Hussain has urged for increasing parliamentary and business exchanges between Pakistan and the Latin-American countries to further strengthen political and trade ties with these countries.The frequent interaction would help utilise the true trade and investment potential existing between Pakistan and the Latin American countries. The president said this while speaking to ambassadors of Latin American countries to Pakistan including Argentina, Brazil and Cuba who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.The envoys of Latin American countries included Rodolfo Jose Martin-Saravia, ambassador of the Argentina Republic to Pakistan, Alfredo Cesar Martinho Leoni, ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Pakistan, and Jesús Zenén Buergo Concepción, ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Pakistan. The president said that due to the remarkable economic progress, the Latin America is emerging as an important region and Pakistan was keen to further enhance and solidify the existing and cooperative ties with the countries of this important region. Highlighting the business and investors friendly initiatives of the present government, the president said that due to geographical location, Pakistan offers great opportunities in various fields, especially energy, infrastructure, agriculture, science & technology, and agriculture. The president said that entrepreneurs and business community of Pakistan and the three Latin American countries, Argentina, Brazil and Cuba, should work together for joint ventures in the fields of energy, science and technology, and agriculture.The ambassadors thanked the president for meeting and said that they would contribute to further cement relations of their respective countries with Pakistan.
