RCCI holds Business Plan Competition


RAWALPINDI - The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has organised a Business Plan Competition here at the Chamber on Wednesday.
Students from the five leading universities i.e. Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), COMSATS, APCOM and National University of Science and Technology (NUST) participated in the competition.
The basic purpose of holding business plan competition was to bridge the gap between industry and academia to promote business activities in the region.
The Managing Director Islamabad Stock Exchange Mian Ayaz Afzal was the chief guest of the ceremony while former President Kashif Shabbir, Raja Amer Iqbal, Dr Shimail Daud and Noman Khan were the jury members of the competition.
President RCCI Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, senior vice president Pervaiz Ahmed Warriach, vice president Nadeem Rauf, member executive committee and large number of the students were also present on the occasion.
Speaking in his inaugural address President RCCI Manzar Khurshid said that it is need of the hour to strengthen industry-academia linkage to endorse business activities and Rawalpindi Chamber is playing its due role in this regard. He said that it is the third competition of its kind organised by the RCCI and same sprit will be continued in future.
President RCCI said that Chamber’s mission is to flourish the talent of the students and provide them employment opportunities according to their capabilities. He said that students are our future, our industrial development is depended on our youth and it is the time to give them space for sharing their ideas.
Mian Ayaz Afzal said RCCI initiated a healthy activity to polish the talent of new generation these kind of competition will help a lot in the development of a nation. He lauded the role of RCCI in national uplift and hoped that such competition will be continued in future.

He was of the view that with help of said steps promotion of business activities can be made possible. At the end he distributed prizes among the successful students.
