President Asif Ali Zardari announced on Thursday to establish a special Economic Zone for the Japanese investors spreading over 2500 acres of land near Port Qasim to give further impetus to economic ties with Japan. The president said this while meeting corporate heads of various Japanese trade organisations here. During the meeting, Japanese investors expressed their desire to invest in the manufacturing sector in Pakistan. Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry Tashihiro Nikai also called on President Zardari and discussed matters of bilateral interest. The Japanese Minister told the Pakistani leader that the Japanese government will facilitate the import of mangoes from Pakistan by the private sector, and a delegation of mango experts will visit Pakistan soon to remove all hurdles in this respect.
