Govt steps ensured supply of eatables in Sahulat Bazars : Minister
 
 
 

 
RAWALPINDI  - The local administration has decided to launch a vigorous campaign against price hike, beggary and sale of unhygienic meat.
It also decided to carry out anti-dengue campaign with the assistance of government departments in the city.
Decision to this effect was taken in a meeting, chaired by Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar here on Sunday. The on-going activities to check dengue were discussed in the meeting and representatives of government departments gave presentation in this regard.
In gis addressing, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar underlined the need to keep capacity building measures intact for effective control on dengue in next season. He also asked health authorities to keep liaison with the government departments and allied organizations. Prices of essential items in open markets as well the supply of eatables in Sahulat Bazars, set up on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, was also reviewed in the meeting. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar directed that Atta sale points and Sahulat Bazaars would also be set up in suburbs of the city to facilitate citizens to get eatables on subsidized rates.
On the recommendation of CPO Rawalpindi, it was decided to initiate steps for rehabilitation of addicts in different localities of the city. Provincial Labour Minister lauded the efforts of public representatives and district administration in connection with dengue eradication and also appreciated successful operations of Police for arrest of culprits involved in street crimes and car theft cases. The Commissioner Rawalpindi directed officers of district administration to regularly visit different markets and check the sale of daily use items on fixed prices.
He said strict action should be taken against illegal profiteers and non-display of price lists. The CPO Rawlapindi Akhtar Hayat Lalika informed about the security measures adopted to maintain law and order. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Khalid Masood Chaudhry, City Police Officer Akhtar Umer Hayyat Lalika , Tahira Aurangzaib, Asia Naz, Seema Jilani, MNAs,Dr. Jamal Nasir, Raja Ateeq Sarwar, Sardar Nasim, Shakeel Awan, Haji Pervez, Mirza Mansur Baig, Shaukat Jangua, Sardar Mumtaz, Member Provincial Assembly Malik Ghulam Raza, Zaibun Nisa Awan, Tehsin Fawad and officers of government departments attended the meeting.
