LAHORE - Kissan Board Pakistan (KBP) has claimed that political involvement in the distribution of bardana is being carried out again as it was done last year. Kissan Board Pakistan President Sardar Zafar Hussain Khan condemned political involvement as well as influence in the distribution of bardana. Another press release added that Kissan Board has expressed its concern over the non-payment allegedly by Phalya Sugar Mills to the farmers. Chairman of the body Chaudhry Muhammad Fiaz while talking to farmers said that administration of the Mill had allegedly refused to pay the dues amounting Rs 460 million to the growers despite repeated demands. He asked the administration to pay farmers without delay otherwise they would take out protest. He said the protest would last till the total payment of farmers dues. He also appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to make accountability of the mills and departments involved in this crime. Anjumen Mazaren Punjab has announced to hold a protest demonstration on the eve of International Farmers Day on April 17 (today) to press their demand for allotting public agricultural land to the local growers. Farmers from other districts of province would also join the protest.
