Conference on power generation on 28th
 
 
 
ISLAMABAD  - The second two-day international power generation conference and showcase, POWERGEN PAK 2008 will be held on August 28 with a theme Power Efficiency, Up-gradation and Self-Reliance for in Karachi.

Supported by the Ministry of Water and Power, Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB), Alternate Energy Development Board (AEDB) and FPCCI, the event will provide a networking and business opportunities exclusively designed for power generation through hydro, coal, renewable, thermal, and fossil fuels etc and allied industries.

Federal minister for environment Hameedullah Jan Afridi, MD, PPIB Fayyaz Elahi and chief executive, AEDB Arif Alauddin, Managing Director Enercon Faridullah Khan in meetings with the Chief Organizer & CEO  Energy Update M.Naeem Qureshi in Islamabad have assured full cooperation and technical support to the conference. Besides, experts from the Ministry, PPIB and AEDB will have presentations on hot topics including current power crisis in the country.

The speakers including  Secretary Water and Power, Chairman WAPDA, M.D. PEPCO, Executive Director Business Operations KESC Tanzeem Naqvi , Shahjehan Mirza Director Planing & Finance Private power infrastructure board ( PPIB) Arif Alauddin Chief Executive Alternate Energy Development Board,  Sheeraz Anwar  Khan, Nafees Ahmed Khan, Bernhard Meyhofer (GTZ)  Rolf Andersson from USA Razi Ahmed, Qazi Zulqadar Siddiqui, Mir Hussain Ali Secretary environment and alternete energy Dept  Sindh  and  others Representative of Thar Coal Energy Board, Sindh Coal Authority, would present papers on the power crises, problems and solutions,  future targets, strategies, technological development & advancement, plan of action energy efficiency conservation and management.
