LAHORE - Poultry meat will be available at reduced rates in Sahulat Bazars across Punjab as compared to the open market, with reduction of Rs10 per kg, while eggs would be available at Rs12 per dozen reduced price than the open market.
This decision was taken in a meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Commissioner Lahore Division Rashid Mehmood Langrial. In accordance with the direction of Punjab government, Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) Raza Mehmmod Khasand has assured that chicken would be available at reduced rate of Rs10 per kg in 141 Sahulat Bazars, across Punjab, while eggs would be available at the reduced rate of Rs.12 per dozen, as compared to the open market.
The Commissioner Rashid Mehmood Langrial said that as a result of reduction in poultry and chicken rates in Sahulat bazaars, even those districts would also benefit where there is negligible production of poultry.
He said PPA would set up its stalls, throughout Punjab, with the assistance of District Administration, where poultry and eggs would be available at reduced rates than the open market. Those who attended the meeting included Chairman PPA Raza Mehmood Khasand, President Poultry Traders Association Lahore Tariq Mehmood, Dr. Kamal Mustafa of Grandparent Company, other representatives of PPA and officers of Livestock Department.
