LAHORE :Agriculture experts said cucumber could be cultivated twice a year as its early crop was sown in February and March while late crop in July. Experts told APP on Sunday that moderate weather was suitable for it. Conducive temperatures for it are 18 to 24 degree centigrade while 27 to 35 centigrade is very good for the growth of its plant.
Experts asked growers to use heavy loam soil for the sowing of cucumber as any other type of land was not good.  Weeds not only take nutrients of the crop but also play a role in spreading different diseases and let insects to harm the crop, experts added. Experts said that cultivation of summer vegetables was good for farmers as by sowing them they could earn good profit as compared to any other crop.
