Vast scope for investment in telecom sector

ISLAMABAD  - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said Pakistan's economy offers best opportunity for the telecom sector as the government was committed to provide level-playing field for their operations. In his meeting with Chua Sock Koong, President Group CEO SingTel, Singapore and Bashir A Tahir, CEO Abu Dhabi Group at the PM House, the Prime Minister mentioned that Pakistan's telecom market provides enough opportunities for investment. The Prime Minister told the delegation that Pakistan also offers best investment opportunities in agriculture and energy sectors. He ensured the delegation of his government's full support in this regard. The Prime Minister encouraged the Abu Dhabi and SingTel Group to establish software centers and also business process outsourcing in Pakistan. The Abu Dhabi Group is one of the largest business group of UAE and the largest foreign investor in Pakistan. Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira, Federal Minister for Information Technology was also present in the meeting.
