ISLAMABAD - The 6th session of Pakistan-Nepal Joint Economic Commission will be held after 8 years on Monday (today) in Islamabad.
The Joint Economic Commission would remain for two days i.e. August 19 and 20. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar would lead the Pakistan and Shankar Parsad Koirala, Minister for Finance would head the Nepal’s side.
The session will review the implementation status of the last Session. Key objectives of the session are review bilateral trade and take measures for its enhancement, sharing of draft of Free Trade Agreement, sharing of draft MoU on Establishing Linkages between Alternate Energy Development Board of Pakistan and Alternate Energy Promotion Center of Nepal.
Both sides would hold discussion on possible areas of cooperation in telecom sector exploring areas for bilateral cooperation in agriculture, education and heath etc.
A number of decisions are expected to be taken during the session.
The minutes of the session will be signed by the two co-chair in the closing ceremony scheduled to be held on 20th August, 2013.
