MULTAN : Punjab Kissan Board (PKB) staged on Wednesday a sit-in to press for their demand of enhancing prices of wheat and sugarcane. PKB provincial president Zafar advocate led the sit-in and attended by hundreds of farmers held at Nawan Shehr chowk. The demonstrators were carrying banners and placards inscribed with their demands. PKB President Zafar stated that high prices of input affecting cultivation. He added that farmers were facing immense financial problems even they are unable to run kitchens and education of their kids. He stated the govt should fix wheat price Rs 1500 per 40 kg and sugarcane Rs 230 per maund as it would surely facilitate the farmers in their’s daily life.
On this occasion, Fiazul Hassan Bhutta, Munir Ahmed and others were also present.
