Association for devising CNG policy

ISLAMABAD (APP) - All Pakistan CNG Association Wednesday pressed for devising a CNG Policy in the country that should ensure fifty per cent difference between the prices of petrol and gas. The association, in a meeting with DG (Gas) OGRA and HDPI also called for giving industrial tariff to CNG sector. Talking to APP after the meeting, Ghiyas Abdulllah Paracha, Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association, said they demanded abolishing double taxation for CNG sector that was putting extra financial burden on the industry. Weve told them that announcement to this effect be made this month, he said. Paracha said Government side listened to their issues and that recommendation would be sent to the Petroleum Minister for consideration. Asked what if their demands were not met Paracha said they had not so far decided in this regard. Earlier, on November 10 the CNG association called a strike over load-management schedule approved by federal cabinet, which appeared quite successful as the government reversed its decision to curtail gas supply to CNG stations.
