LPG price slashed by Rs 2.50-3


KARACHI  - Marketing companies have reduced price of LPG by Rs 2.50 to Rs 3 per kilo due to declining sale of LPG in the country.
This was stated by the patron-in-chief of All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association and Chairman FPCCI Standing Committee of LPG Abdul Hadi Khan here Friday. He said the price of 11.8 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs 30-40 and 45.4 kg cylinder by Rs 115-153.
Welcoming the decline in LPG prices, he said that marketing companies have reduced prices for the second time in a week. He also urged local producers to announce the required cut in LPG price to save this business from total collapse.
Hadi said that LPG sale was still restricted to 40 to 50 percent due to high price which forced general consumers to abandon LPG. It is high time that local producers must increase LPG production in the country to provide relief to consumers as well as push up sales, he added.
He said that after this decrease, LPG will be sold at Rs 111-112 per kilo in Karachi, Lahore, Sindh and Punjab, Rs 113-114 per kilo in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar, and Rs 120-121 per kilo in Northern Areas, FATA, Batgram and AJK.
Similarly, the price of 11.8 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs 30 to 40 to Rs 1200-1210 in Karachi, Sindh, Lahore and Punjab, Rs 1230-1240 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar, and Rs 1,280 in Swat, and Rs 1330 in Northern Areas, FATA, Batgram and AJK.
Price of 45.4 kg cylinder has been decreased to 4,641 in Karachi, Sindh, Lahore and Punjab, Rs 4,778 in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa and Peshawar, and Rs 4950 in Swat Batgram and Rs 5187 in norther areas, FATA, Batgram and AJK.
Welcoming the decision of marketing companies in the scenario of energy crisis and sky rocketing prices, he also urged local LPG producers to also reduce their prices so that its sales are stabilised.
Hadi said LPG sale can be increased in the backdrop of rising prices of petrol, CNG and diesel, if an effective and integrated strategy of all stakeholders and a further reduction in LPG price is needed for the desired results.
