Pak Postal announces allowance for flood-hit staff

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Ministry of Postal Services announced a special allowance for its flood affected employees to help them build their houses. Minister for Postal Service Israr Ullah Zehri chairing a high level meeting with the Postal Ministry Director General, Chairman Postal Service and Federal Secretary for Post Muhammad Saleem Khan, said that the meeting decided to initiate special campaign for relief activities in order to ensure all necessary assistance to the flood affected employees especially in Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Zehri said that the ministry would provide house building allowance to the employees of Postal Services in different flood affected areas of Balochistan, Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, GB and Directorate General employees. On the suggestion of the Director General Post the ministry would estimate the overall damage it suffered in flood affected areas. He further said that the Postal Ministry will also repair all the infrastructure of post offices and post in flood hit areas. He said that the ministry will allocate special fund for rehabilitation of the postal offices.
