FuelWatch Challenge competition in DG Khan

LAHORE (PR): For the first time in the history of Pakistan a FuelWatch Challenge was organized by Volvo Trucks and VPL Ltd in the DG Khan
Cement Factory, Kallar Kahar. The Challenge included training on fuel efficiency and a truck driving competition involving rules of FuelWatch which culminated in prize distribution in a hotel in Lahore. Participants included truck drivers from Lucky Cement, Bestway Cement and DG Khan Cement.
The activity was extended to train and develop drivers so that they can contribute to the fuel saving of the vehicles, minimizing the operating cost and reducing the environmental impact. The competition allowed drivers to experience the advantages of FuelWatch in an entertaining and exhilarating manner, whereby, the winning driver of this challenge in off-road category will compete in the Global Volvo Trucks Challenge taking place in Sweden in September in this year. Mr. Jonas Gadolin of Volvo Group Truck Sales & Marketing and JVs APAC shared that “It has been observed that proper driver development can help us to save up to 20% of the fuel cost. The competition was not about who reached first, but who used their fuel most efficiently.”
The FuelWatch Challenge revolves around the key concepts of Optimized Trucks; Fuel saving Maintenance; Efficiency Upgrade; DynaFleet Trip Manager; Driver Development; and Fuel Management Service. It represents a ‘new generation’ truck driving techniques. It is the most efficient and effective means for fuel management.
