RAWALPINDI - The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said that Britain was keen to invest in Pakistan to strengthen economic relations between the two countries. The travel advisory on Pakistan would be left soon while the visa policy for business community of Pakistan would also be made easier, he added He was exchanging these views with a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by its President Kashif Shabbir here at his office on Wednesday. Thomson said that trade activities between the two countries would be enhanced and the United Kingdom (UK) would never left alone Pakistan in the prevailing situation. The Commissioner said that his country encouraged the Pakistani businessmen to visit the Britain markets and the RCCI members would be facilitated on priority basis in that regard. Speaking on the occasion, President RCCI Kashif Shabbir said that there was a healthy environment in Pakistan for investment and the Britain must come forward to invest in Pakistan. He further said that both the countries were enjoying good trade relations and the total trade volume between the two countries was $59,191.36. It is need of the hour to increase the bilateral trade between the two friend countries, he said. The RCCI President said that both the countries must started joint ventures to further enhance the trade relations. He was of the view that contacts between the businessmen community of the two countries would play a vital role in this regard. Kashif Shabbir demanded of the High Commissioner that visa policy would be made easier for the business community of Pakistan. A trade delegation of RCCI would visit the United Kingdom on October 20 to promote the bilateral trade relations, he informed. Adam Thomson ensured his full cooperation in this regard. Senior Vice President Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah, Abdul Qadous, Asif Zafar Chaudhry and Mamoon Anwer were also present on the occasion.
