OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) hosted a meeting with Italian Ambassador H.E.Vinvenzo Prati to deliberate on areas of mutual interest for boosting trade between Italy and Pakistan. The Italian ambassador was accompanied by Head of Commercial and Economic Section, Embassy of Italy, Federico Bianchi and President Italian Pakistan Business Association (IPBA) Ahsan Rasheed. Chief Executive Officer PBIT Saadat Muzaffar, DG PBIT Habib ur Rehman Gillani welcomed the guests. CEO PBIT Saadat Muzaffar, briefed the Italian Ambassador about prior projects. Saadat Muzaffar also equipped the ambassador with the knowledge about investment potential of Punjab and incentives available for encouraging investment. in the region. He also highlighted the key areas mutually beneficial to both countries including trade in Textile, Leather and Marble. He said that PBIT is matchmaking between the indigenous resources of Punjab and the intending foreign investors by playing facilitating role. During discussion session, the Italian Ambassador and IPBA proposed the concept of holding investment seminar coupled with mango exhibition in Italy in collaboration with PBIT. To make the visit of Italian delegation fruitful, CEO PBIT Saadat Muzaffar, recommended that PBIT and the Italian Pakistan Business Association should work together to finalize roadmap for investment seminar and mango exhibition in Italy. During meeting working groups were also constituted to finalize the arrangements of investment seminar and Mango exhibition in Rome and Milan.
