Punjab utilises 45pc funds of ADP





LAHORE – The Punjab government has utilised around 45 per cent funds of its Annual Development Plan (ADP) during four months of fiscal year 2012-13.
According to a report issued by the Punjab Planning & Development Department here on Wednesday, the net size of the Annual Development Plan (ADP) 2012-13 is Rs210 billion out of which a sum of Rs72.67 billion has been released while Rs32.45 billion were utilised till Oct, showing about 45 per cent spending against funds released.
“The Punjab government has released funds worth Rs72.670 billion for various development sectors during the last four months of current financial year i.e. from July to October against the total volume of development plan of Rs210 billion,” report said.
Report said that the Punjab government divided its core development budget 2012-13 into six parts consisting of social sectors (education, health, water supply & sanitation, district dev. programmes), infrastructure development sector (irrigation, roads, urban dev. including BRTS), production sectors (agriculture, livestock, food, forestry, fisheries), services sectors (IT, transport, emergency, tourism etc.) special dev. programmes/packages (district dev. programmes, green tractor scheme & laptop scheme) and miscellaneous sectors (like environment, archaeology, Auqaf and P&D).
According to the details, the government released funds of Rs27.31 billion out of original size Rs87.151 billion for social sectors included education sector, health sector, water supply and sanitation sector, district development programme etc. in which Rs7.15 billion has been utilized with 26 per cent spending of funds. Rs. 36.766 billion were released out of actual size of Rs. 62.900 billion for infrastructure development sector which included irrigation sector, road sector and urban development sector (BRTS) in which Rs. 20.336 billion were spent, showing 55% spending of funds. The sum of Rs. 2.801 billion out of original size Rs. 8.615 billion has been released and worth Rs. 0.973 billion been utilized for production sectors included agriculture sector, livestock sector, food sector, forestry and fisheries sectors etc., showing 35% spending of funds on uplift projects.
The Punjab government also released an amount of Rs1.75 billion out of Rs11.1 billion as original size and utilized the sum of Rs0.82 billion with 47% utilization of funds against the services sectors which included information technology sector, transport sector, emergency services and tourism sector etc.
