Wheat has so far been cultivated on an area of 200105 acres of land in the district out of the targeted 677453 acres during the current Rabi season. This was stated by the District Officer Agriculture Ch Anwar-ul-Haq while talking to APP here Wednesday. He said the target for gram crop was 180763 acres and so far it had been cultivated on 164320 acres of land. He said the field staff of the department was busy in giving expert tips to the farmers and land owners, adding farm training programmes were also underway in the district.
He further said Urea fertilizer was being sold below the market rates and adequate stock of DAP was also available.
