Poland ready to invest in energy


SIALKOT - Poland has shown its interest to explore and develop new energy resources in Pakistan along with assuring investment in energy sector in a bid to pull the country out of persisting energy crisis.
Poland ambassador Dr Andrzej Ananicz made this assurance while addressing a meeting of Sialkot business community held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here Thursday.  SCCI President Naeem Anwar Qureshi was also present on this occasion.
The Polish envoy vowed to make all out sincere efforts to boost mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Poland, saying that the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties. It is high time, he said, to strengthen the mutual trade ties between Poland and Pakistan, saying that there were bright opportunities of setting up joint ventures in different trade fields with Pakistan, especially in energy sector. On this occasion, the exporters told that Sialkot produces sports goods, surgical instruments, leather products, gloves of all sorts and textiles and could find a good market in Poland.
The main hurdle is direct link between business communities of both countries. There is lack of communication and proper marketing, they added. Earlier, the Polish ambassador visited several city’s leading industrial units.
He witnessed international standard craftsmanship and highly hailed it.
