Banks to process loan applications of women on priority


 LAHORE : The government has issued special directions to commercial banks to prefer grant loan applications of women entrepreneurs under the Prime Minister Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) scheme. Alamgir Chaudhry, SMEDA’s General Manager Outreach, said while inaugurating the SME Zone here on Saturday.    He urged the women entrepreneurs to avail the incentives and facilities being offered by the government to attract women towards business sector.     He said that SMEDA, under the leadership its CEO Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, was striving hard for towing government agenda on economic empowerment of women in the country. 
   For this purpose, a number of the special initiatives have been undertaken, which include training programs on how to do business, modern marketing and the use of information technology to access the potential markets, he said adding that trade and exhibitions are the most effective activity to strengthen business networking and know the modern trends of national and international business.
   He told that it was a regular feature of SMEDA to bring women entrepreneurs, especially from the less developed areas to the exhibitions like WEXNET.
   He further informed that the Women Business Development Centers set up by SMEDA at Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Swat were providing pro-active assistance to the women in doing business and making their businesses successful.
