ISLAMABAD - The government on Monday decided to revise eligibility criteria for granting bicycle, motorcycle and motorcar advance allowances for the government employees with effect from 1st July 2012, says a notification issued here.
The Finance Ministry on Monday issued notification stating, it has been decided to revise the eligibility criteria for granting bicycle advance, motorcycle advance and motorcar allowances for the government employees with immediate effect from 1st July 2012. According to the notification issued, bicycle advance for the employee paying up to Rs 7500 per month has been revised to Rs 7000 and motorcycle/scooter advance on paying between Rs 7501 to Rs 19,999 per month has been revised to Rs 75,000.
Meanwhile, motorcar advance allowance on paying of Rs 20,000 per month and above has been revised to Rs 450,000. The notification further stated that it has also been decided that names of officials who are already on the waiting lists for the above referred allowances may not be deleted from the said lists. The other conditions on the subject would continue to be in force as before.
It is worth mentioning here that government has already increased the salaries of the government officials by 20 per cent in the annual budget 2012-13. Similarly, conveyance allowance of the government officials has also been increased. Meanwhile, the government has almost doubled special pay and allowances admissible to the civil employees of the Federal government with effect from July 1st, 2012. According to the notification issued by the Finance Ministry other day, the government has also increased the senior post allowance of the officials working in BPS 20 to 22 grades. Meanwhile, the travelling and mileage allowance of the civil employees have also been enhanced.
