LAHORE - The three-day International Poultry Expo 2014 will be held from Sept 25 to 27 under the auspices of Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) at Expo Centre, Lahore.
This was stated by the chief organizer of the IPEX 2014, Ch Shaukat Hussain, while chairing a meeting of the Expo Organizing Committee held here at Poultry House.
Among others, the major participants of the meeting included PPA former chairman Abdul Haye Mehta, secretary IPEX Major (r) Syed Javed Bukhari, Dr. Tahir Nazir, Dr Jamshed Ismail, Azmat Ch, Rai Mansab, Haroon Sarmad and Abdul Maroof.
Ch Shaukat informed that the IPEX would be attended by over 300 foreigners from different countries, while over 15,000 business entrepreneurs and policy making authorities of the government and around 10,000 general visitors are expected to visit the event. However, he said that organising committee has fixed the target of registered participants of the IPEX at 6,000.
He informed the meeting that invitation letters for the opening of IPEX has been sent the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while for the closing ceremony the finance minister Ishaq Dar has been invited. He said that other prominent figures who are being invited for the IPEX included Governor Punjab Ch Sarwar and health minister Sara Afzal Tarar.
He said that PPA is holding the international event regularly since 1998 with the objectives of creating awareness among the framers as well as the veterinarians, to share major developments and progress in different areas of poultry production in the world. The exhibition is also aimed at developing closer ties among all stakeholders of the poultry industry working in different sections of the sectors, he added. Highlighting the important features of IPEX, he said that exhibition, souvenir disbursement, cooking competition, Umra tickets and lucky draws would be the major events of the poultry show. The events would hopefully educate and fascinate not only the farmers, students, poultry-related businessmen and veterinarians but also general public.
The three-day expo, which held annually in Sept, will be a show of vaccine suppliers, feed millers, consultants and breeder companies.
He informed that with a view to entertain the general public as well as the students, a collection of lovely and colourful birds would be arranged in a Bird Show along with the other recreational facilities.
“We are going to arrange a Cooking Competition amongst the ladies and girls college students having variety of chicken and eggs dishes displayed at one place on both the days. Chefs of five star hotels would be invited to evaluate first three positions and prizes would be given to the winners.”
